July 5 is National Injury Prevention Day

July 5, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – July 5 is National Injury Prevention Day. According to Parachute, a Canadian organization dedicated to preventing injuries, injury is the leading cause of death for Canadians aged 1 to 44.

Parachute is dedicated to changing these statistics and therefore launched National Injury Prevention Day (NIPD). To help promote the day, some Canadian municipalities are pledging their support by lighting up landmarks (including the CN Tower) with Parachute green.
